INTEGRATION OF 4 COMPONENTS INTO 1 FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE
What Customer needs:
A contract manufacturer capable of manufacturing and assembly of 4 separate components for their control valve used in their instrumentation module for their process control management system.
AMT Value-add:
Utilizing the MIM capability of forming complex geometry, AMT co-designed and mass produced the final product by integrating the 4 components into a seamlessly integrated 1-piece MIM component. Not only did it achieved cost saving for the customer, but the product’s performance was also greatly enhanced as the magnetic hysteresis loss in the product was eliminated. Coupled to that, there was part-count reduction, simplifying logistic and inventory management. This 1-piece MIM component was awarded the MIM Grand Prize by MPIF in 2000.
